Most of us have heard of the story of a sculpturer who made a very beautiful sculpture. He was working on his next one and was carving on a rock. One visitor came and started appreciating him and he said that you make very nice sculptures. He smiled and said that I don’t make anything. The rock already had everything inside it. I just removed what was not required. Similarly we all have what we need. We just need to remove what we do not want. We already have the power to achieve whatever we have dreamed of. However, we need to realize that we have the power and for that we must be ready to embrace and endure everything. But what makes sure that after enduring everything I would become strong. The sculpture comes out of the rock after it is ready to bear all the tools and beating. If the rock would start breaking before that, then it would never turn into a beautiful sculpture. But what needs to be removed? Fear, doubts, jealousy, ego. Carve out everything with love. Hold your tools with love and then only fine linings appear. What if we are beaten more than we can endure? What if we do not know how much we can endure? The rock does not know how much it can endure. It’s the sculpturer who knows and also where to carve what. So who is the sculpturer here? It makes me laugh. There is only one master who has carved beautiful idols from the rocks and that is God. He is the one who is carving out everyone. Can we doubt his skills? But it is too much to bear everything? When you are beaten more, it means finer will be the sculpture. So what do we do?
Hold yourself tightly, have faith and keep marching ahead with love. If you become rigid, you will break. But if you stand strong, you will come out as a beautiful sculpture. But how do I know if I can stand that? What if other sculptures are more beautiful than what I am? That is how ego compares. It is not scared of what others are, it wants to be best and keeps comparing. However, it forgets that the master will make every sculpture as best one from his side. A seed never knew it could become a tree. From a tree thousands of seeds come out. Every seed has its own life. But every seed has to be ready to be buried under the pressure of Earth, stay grounded in floods, bear the burnt of sunlight and then come out. Then it grows stronger to become a tree. When it becomes a tree, it realizes all these elements were and always are necessary for its life. If we do not give sunlight, Earth, water or air to a seed, it can never grow and still cannot survive. So whatever, difficult things we are facing in our lives are necessary for our growth and life or else we cannot survive. We will never be able to become a tree. Every seed has own life and it does not have to be threatened by life of other seeds. Because one tree does not kill another tree.
So we must believe in what we have and who we are and be ready to stand strong and face everything to become a tree which can nurture, give fruits, and give shed.
